The UMCGF Mission Trip Team Highlights
The UMCGF Mission Trip Team spent a productive week in Vermont fixing roofs, installing sump pump systems, cleaning and removing silt from basements, installing new walls, etc.
Each day was filled with purpose and camaraderie. Mornings began at 7 a.m. with breakfast. Around 8 a.m., the group split into three assigned groups – led by group leaders Rich Basham, Ron Miller, and Rob Parrette – and head out to our designated sites, which can be 30 to 60 minutes away into the Northern part of the Green Mountain State. The conditions of roads and bridges remind us of the impact of the 2023 flood and recent flooding. By 4 p.m., we would make our way back to the camp, clean up, and prepare for dinner at 6 p.m., always deliciously prepared by Stephanie Cyr and Beth Bohara. At 7 p.m., we gathered for a time of devotion and conversation, for which I am grateful to Stephanie Cyr, Terry Jones, Art Nagel, and Ed Lynch for leading us in centering our days of work with God. Finally, we retire to our cabins for a well-deserved rest to gear up for the next day’s work.
